SIMON'S TOWN : This charming naval town is steeped in history and tradition. Named after the governor of the Cape Colony, Simon van der Stel - upon whose recommendation Simon's Bay was used by the Dutch East India Company for winter anchorage the main focus of the town is its naval base.
The False Bay Whales : Several species of whale come into False Bay and can be seen in the vicinity of Simon's Town. These include Bryde's Whale, the Humpback Whale (which is the one that 'Sings') and the Killer Whale, more commonly known as the Orca. The most common, however, is the Southern Right Whale, which visits us from June to December.
African Penguin : Boulders Beach has become world famous for its thriving colony of African Penguins (previously named the Jackass Penguin). Although set in the midst of a residential area, it is one of the few sites where this vulnerable bird (Spheniscus Demersus) can be observed at close range wandering freely in a protected environment.
Follow the M4 South from Simon's Town Metro Station for + 4km in the direction of Cape Point, turn right into Rockland’s Road then follow the road for 50 meters and turn right into Erica Road. Blue Sea Holiday Accommodation is the second last house on the right. Number 5 Erica Road
